Wall Art

Classic OLD oval frames are a great find! Gotta hunt for a few more at the Nashville flea market next weekend! Loved this "girly" frame and it sold fast! (which always makes me sad also when I wish i had more to keep for myself:)
I am however making another one of these wall panels with flower/paper (as below.)
This one used music sheets but the other has bible pages. The flower petals are made from toilet paper rolls (cut, bent and painted.)
These both sold, but i am in the process of making more!

Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and I honestly tear up b/c there are SO many things that i could say about my amazing dad. Here is how I (and many others) describe my dad:
Croley is like Indiana Jones+MacGuyver+some guy from the travel channel who goes all over the place and just soaks up culture.
Yeah...something like that.
One of those people who can fix anything or at least help you figure out how to fix it.

Travel skills- DOUBLE CHECK

My dad taught me to "Dream, GO, Do, Try, explore, challenge, learn etc."
He told me that "no education is a waste" and i honestly have been changed and all the better for that. He allowed me to embrace the unique way that God created me and not to let the world drag me down.
My dad laughs in the face of what the world tells you is right or wrong. Things like when i said, "Hey dad, i got offered the opportunity to go live in Argentina and study in a school for a month...but i have to decide this week. I am pretty sure that i want to go....what do you think?" Most people would say that is too rash. Too fast. Too unknown.
Go, dream, explore, learn, be challenged.
My eyes have been opened to a bigger world, a hard world, but a world where i want to embrace the opportunities before me and not let life pass by....
thank you Dad.
Thank you for believing in me and supporting me for so long.

Flea Market Tales

I LOVE the flea market! It is amazing and you can get lost in row after row of treasures and items that most others would consider "junk." I look at it like it's Disneyworld! You really need hours or even days to conquer the Nashville Flea Market, but even in just an hour you can make a great find!
I found 3 of these old wooden tennis racket covers! I see through the lens of "what can i make this into..." and these racket covers were a STEAL! The man selling them didn't think i would even know what they were! Well, i did, but my purpose was NOT to use them on anything tennis involved.
Here is the first of the 3. Small wood pieces glued together and cut to fit inside.
I am for sure going to find it a home on a table as a centerpiece or something! Who knows!

Carnton

Bible pages, paper flowers, wood painting, directional signs....i loved making most of the center pieces for our wedding reception!

I love crayon runs so i did one to match our colors. Still have that thing if anyone wants to buy? It doesn't match a thing in our casa.

I could NOT decide on any cake topper at all. I don't like traditional stuff and we didn't have many extra flowers.....so i bought those cheap wood craft pieces from Michael's. For about 50 cents each, i got these 3, stained them and then burned our initials into them and added picks to stick into the cake! LOVE THESE! Would LOVE to make more for anyone! I think they looked so fun.

For my wedding, i easily got these scrap boards from my parents house! They had just built a house, so these are parts from their leftover flooring! Gotta love getting stuff for free, and i would rather use stuff that i find anyways! At the time, my sister was living in London and had to fly in for the wedding. The zoo is our other favorite (we did photos there too:) so we just loved adding in a few personal touches that seemed odd!
Adam and I got married in September at the AMAZING Carnton house in Franklin, TN. This historic home has some of the best stories ever that you MUST learn and even read about (a.k.a. Widow of the South.)
More on our amazing wedding day later....but I did have a blast making the center pieces out of stuff I already had! Paper flowers, jars and more. I do now have a massive stock of milk bottles, mason jars and buckets if anyone needs to rent:)
Here's a pic of a few things!!
