Items at Hazeleyes Salon in Brentwood!

Thanks to my amazing hair stylist Debbie, i have a few fun items up in her store currently!
After she purchased one of the larger items I created, she has been so kind and supportive of my art!
Thanks Debbie! So i made a few items that are up in her salon/booth over in Brentwood! One of them I wanted to keep for myself so badly :) but that is the hard part about creating things that you love.....you get attached!
So here are the items that are up in her shop!

    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

Wedding Directional Signs....SUCCESS

I was truly excited and honored that my wedding coordinator hired me to make some wedding crafts for her new bride! Best of all, it was a wedding at the zoo (so I already felt connected to this bride, whoever she is!)
Making these signs was so fun and I got to use my passion for creating PLUS my power tools....SCORE!

I got wood supplies from Home Depot, plus paint, plus my tools....One day later- BAM! Fun and personalized wedding directional signs for "Laura and Chris."

I loved making these and now that i am better at them i am so ready to make more! Any brides out there want some signs? More wedding crafts to come, but keep these on your list!

I made 3 separate posts.

Wall Art

Classic OLD oval frames are a great find! Gotta hunt for a few more at the Nashville flea market next weekend! Loved this "girly" frame and it sold fast! (which always makes me sad also when I wish i had more to keep for myself:)
I am however making another one of these wall panels with flower/paper (as below.)
This one used music sheets but the other has bible pages. The flower petals are made from toilet paper rolls (cut, bent and painted.)
These both sold, but i am in the process of making more!

Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and I honestly tear up b/c there are SO many things that i could say about my amazing dad. Here is how I (and many others) describe my dad:
Croley is like Indiana Jones+MacGuyver+some guy from the travel channel who goes all over the place and just soaks up culture.
Yeah...something like that.
One of those people who can fix anything or at least help you figure out how to fix it.
Coffee/Coffee Roasting skills-CHECK
Computer skills- CHECK
Math/Language skills- CHECK
Car building skills-CHECK
Travel skills- DOUBLE CHECK

My dad taught me to "Dream, GO, Do, Try, explore, challenge, learn etc."
He told me that "no education is a waste" and i honestly have been changed and all the better for that. He allowed me to embrace the unique way that God created me and not to let the world drag me down.
My dad laughs in the face of what the world tells you is right or wrong. Things like when i said, "Hey dad, i got offered the opportunity to go live in Argentina and study in a school for a month...but i have to decide this week. I am pretty sure that i want to go....what do you think?" Most people would say that is too rash. Too fast. Too unknown.
Go, dream, explore, learn, be challenged.
My eyes have been opened to a bigger world, a hard world, but a world where i want to embrace the opportunities before me and not let life pass by....
thank you Dad.
Thank you for believing in me and supporting me for so long.

Flea Market Tales

I LOVE the flea market! It is amazing and you can get lost in row after row of treasures and items that most others would consider "junk." I look at it like it's Disneyworld! You really need hours or even days to conquer the Nashville Flea Market, but even in just an hour you can make a great find!
I found 3 of these old wooden tennis racket covers! I see through the lens of "what can i make this into..." and these racket covers were a STEAL! The man selling them didn't think i would even know what they were! Well, i did, but my purpose was NOT to use them on anything tennis involved.
Here is the first of the 3. Small wood pieces glued together and cut to fit inside.
I am for sure going to find it a home on a table as a centerpiece or something! Who knows!

Carnton

Bible pages, paper flowers, wood painting, directional signs....i loved making most of the center pieces for our wedding reception!

I love crayon runs so i did one to match our colors. Still have that thing if anyone wants to buy? It doesn't match a thing in our casa.

I could NOT decide on any cake topper at all. I don't like traditional stuff and we didn't have many extra flowers.....so i bought those cheap wood craft pieces from Michael's. For about 50 cents each, i got these 3, stained them and then burned our initials into them and added picks to stick into the cake! LOVE THESE! Would LOVE to make more for anyone! I think they looked so fun.

For my wedding, i easily got these scrap boards from my parents house! They had just built a house, so these are parts from their leftover flooring! Gotta love getting stuff for free, and i would rather use stuff that i find anyways! At the time, my sister was living in London and had to fly in for the wedding. The zoo is our other favorite (we did photos there too:) so we just loved adding in a few personal touches that seemed odd!
Adam and I got married in September at the AMAZING Carnton house in Franklin, TN. This historic home has some of the best stories ever that you MUST learn and even read about (a.k.a. Widow of the South.)
More on our amazing wedding day later....but I did have a blast making the center pieces out of stuff I already had! Paper flowers, jars and more. I do now have a massive stock of milk bottles, mason jars and buckets if anyone needs to rent:)
Here's a pic of a few things!!

Broken Pieces

We are currently in a series for Kairos called, "Broken Pieces:Make the Best Stained Glass Window." So here I am, smashing glass in a trashcan each week as mike puts one piece into a pane and I fill it in before the next week! Pics from each stage will be up soon. Here's a start to the first. Just playing with broken glass and hoping not to cut myself along the way;)

What can i say? I just totally love these letters that i created for Kairos. Our Easter Experience night was called, "RISE" and it was AWESOME!
Made these to look like rust/galvanized steel.....used cardboard cutout letters, paint, poster board on the edges and input lights in the center! TADA!

Night of Worship Revisited!

SOOOO, here are some of my favorites from our Kairos Night of Worship a few years ago! LOVED joining efforts with Ashley Guilbert to create art using the WORD of God.
Each piece has such a dear place in my heart and speaks differently to each person.
Bible Page Flower- Created to show: "The grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God will stand forever."- Isaiah 40:8

Rainbow Crayon Melt to show: "I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth."- Genesis 9:13

Hebrews 12:29- "For our God is a consuming fire."

"PURSUED"- I was supposed to create a piece of art that showed how God pursues us. I created these paper flowers to show that God pursues us with beauty and nature all around us as well as pursuing us individually (as show with the Bible page flower alone.)

This was a tree cut out originally (found at an awesome estate sale.)   "For he shall be as a tree, planted by the waters..."- Jeremiah 17:8

That's What Monday was for....

This blog is mainly for all of my artwork and crafting projects, BUT every now and then i am going to share life and loves and some of that WILL include COFFEE and Healthy FOODIE stuff!
LOVIN' our new juicer and the creations is makes! These are two of our favories!
1) GREEN GOODNESS- Green Apples, KALE, Spinach and a lime!
2) "Orange You Glad You Made Juice?"- Oranges, Carrots, apples and Bell Pepper

So then for Monday madness I whipped up a chalkboard for good friend Emily! They need a board for their weekly scriptures! LOVE IT and such an amazing goal for a married couple.
I didn't take the time to hang it on a wall (since it isn't for me!)

I do love the Bible.

Red Bible Page Flower
Please don't look at these and think, "This girl likes to rip up Bibles!"  There is much more meaning behind these and the fact that the WORD is in front of you face is one of my favorite parts!

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."- Isaiah 40:8

These Bible page flowers may be my absolute favorite thing to make. Each one turns out so different b/c of the petals and how i lay them and what size i make them. I think they are so beautiful when they are done and on the wall, you cannot help but stare b/c you are LOOKING at the WORD of our God in beauty.  I have used these pages for multiple art pieces and set pieces for Kairos. Also using the feathers as a reference to
Psalm 91:4 "....under his wings you will find refuge..."

The Good Cup- art wall

4-canvas Bible flower- donated at The Good Cup
Very small Bible page flower

Bible Page Feathers
Large wall display used at Kairos-covered in Bible pages and art for Night of Worship

Chalk it up!

Everyone is diggin' on chalk! I have aweful handwriting, so when it comes to actually writing with chalk, I am not the go to girl, but as far as creating a chalkboard....SO FUN....and SO EASY! My awesome mom gave me one of those super ornate gold frames. I gave it a paint job and added chalk-painted plywood cut to fit! TADA! LOVE this one. Sold very quickly or otherwise I would have begged my hubby to find a place for it in the house.
I also of course will find ANY way possible to use a window pane, so adding chalk to fit in is a must. This one below is a smaller one for a kitchen. The bottom one is HUGE! Gonna look amazing in my friend's house though! Love the large 2-pane window also. Love that it is goin in a house i will get to see often!
